Taylor Factory Tours

Curious to see what goes into crafting a world-class Taylor guitar? Visit our factory headquarters in El Cajon, California, for a free, guided tour!

Starting May 10, 2024, We’ll be offering two public tours per week. Both tours happen on Fridays — the first at 10 a.m., and the second at 12:30 p.m. Tours last approximately one hour and 15 minutes.

Register Online in Advance
Online pre-registration is required to reserve your spot on the tour, as we are limited to 20 people per tour. We are unable to accommodate walk-ins for tours, so please be sure to register in advance! Reserve your spot below.

If you’re looking to arrange a factory tour for a large group such as a school or organization, please reach out to us via email at PublicTours@taylorguitars.com.  We offer group tours on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. Our factory tour offers an immersive look into Taylor’s state-of-the-art manufacturing operation. You’ll learn about our tonewood sourcing and see firsthand the unique artistry and craftsmanship that bring our guitars to life each day. Whether you’re a Taylor guitar owner or simply curious to learn how one is made, our factory tour promises a memorable experience that will deepen your appreciation for crafting a beautiful musical instrument. Tour Details  
• Tours are free of charge  
• Online pre-registration is required and reservations can be made on a first-come, first-served basis  
• If you need to cancel a reservation, please do so at least 24 hours in advance
• Please check in 15 minutes prior to your tour time in the Taylor Visitor Center  
• The tour utilizes a headset system; a receiver and headphones will be provided  
• While not physically demanding, the tour does include a fair amount of walking (about a half a mile in total walking distance)  
• Due to its technical nature, the tour might not be suitable for young children  
• Wearing closed-toe shoes is recommended  
• Safety glasses are required for all guests who are not wearing prescription glasses; they will be provided  
• The summer months can get hot in our production areas. We recommend you hydrate prior to taking our tour (we have water available in the Visitor Center and other areas of the factory)

Visitor Center Information  
• Our Visitor Center is open Monday - Friday from 9:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.(excluding holidays)
• We have an array of guitars on display and available to play and purchase  
• We also have Taylor apparel and accessories available for purchase  
• Our knowledgeable staff is happy to answer any questions you have during your visit

Waiver
To join the factory tour, please arrive at the Visitor Center 15 minutes early to sign in and complete the mandatory waiver.


Safety Guidelines
• Safety glasses are required for all guests who are not wearing prescription glasses. They will be required for the entirety of the tour. Taylor Guitars will provide them in the Visitor Center upon your arrival.
• Closed-toed shoes are required as we will be around heavy machinery in use.

How should I dress for the tour? 
Comfortable attire and closed-toed shoes.

Is the tour accessible for individuals using wheelchairs?
Yes.

Can I bring food or drinks? 
Food, drinks and coolers  are not permitted on tour. There are green areas where you can eat before or after the tour. We encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle to refill it in our facilities.  

Does Taylor have lockers available for guests?
There are no lockers or storage space for guests’ belongings.

Are children allowed on the tour?
Yes, children of all ages are welcome. Just be aware that due to some of the technical information presented, the tour might not be suitable for young children.
